Eva Longoria Parker at the "Sound of Hope" Benefit Gala.
This thick, gorgeous coiffure takes us back to the silver screen days of the 1930's when the actresses wore layers and layers of curl making any dense hair appear even thicker. The rage was the curliest of perms and Eva Longoria Parker wears it well as she takes us back in time.
You may be surprised to learn that the best way to get this look on the long layers of Dana Delany is to use a hot roller set. On hair of some length, the heated curlers will give some bounce and bend to the ends, in a quick easy way while you finish getting ready. Any backbrushing can be applied after curlers are removed and hair has cooled.
A new twist that has developed would be pinning up the back of the style and leaving the side sections to freely hang. In the past, this has become an ordinary occurrence, however, when the length and layers are as long as Molly Sims' look here, the ordinary become extraordinary.
Heavy fringe tops off this medium-long layer that appears razor cut on Debbie Gibson. With a little hugging bend to her fringe, her length has been flatironed giving it some sedu personality.
Demonstrating a couple of different modern takes of today's hairstyles, Krysten Ritter has a more subtle approach here for this current style. Deeply parted, thick bangs are a great contrast to her sections of undisturbed vertical ringlets, all done on jet black hair.
The 2008 Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza, has her long hair pulled back in the modern take on a formal hairstyle, otherwise known as a low-riding Gothic ponytail. If you are thinking of cutting off your long hairstyle, this is certainly the look to help you determine if you have the features for a short hairstyle.
It's A special night and you want your HAIR done quickly. After shampooing and completely drying your hair, preferably with product dried therein, roll sections like these, pin and sit under a HOTt dryer for about 10-15 minutes. You MAY want to very lightly spritz with (watered down) spray gel, or not, before applying that heat, however, experiment as everyone's tastes, and hair, are different. While these curls are getting their very necessary cooling, apply your make-up, dress or RELAX. The longer they cool the better so waiting until just before you GO out is ideal. Remove pins carefully, shake STYLE and with your fingers, direct where you want it all to fall. Fingercomb gently and spray with a little hairspray or spray wax and you're set for the night. This works on longer HAIR TOO, though the heating and cooling times will differ.
Even outdoors in the cold or wind, Mary Hart still manages to keep her medium length looking good. Her layers are all rolled vertically and barely picked to break them up for smoothness.
A little layering around the bottom of this short to medium length on Linda Evangelista allows a short stack of curls to be supported. Tucking it all behind her ears gives this look a graceful air and opens up her well made-up face that could maybe use a little more mascara.
Slight layering along the bottom of this style on Natasha Richardson gives her just the lift she needs to pull off this light flip.
