This exquisite look on Ellen Pompeo has curls rolled forward springing her hair shorter into finger-wave fashion along the forehead.  Looking quite like the "Roaring 1920's Flapper" style, she only needs a cute horizontal headband and feather to complete this retro look that will soon be a century old.

We've all seen low-riding buns and French twists used for a classy evening look.  And having the density and length to allow these styles to hang loosely adds a dramatic touch.  Ellen Pompeo's stylist decided to really stretch this concept into a modern takeover by working the majority of Ellen's hair under and has either curled it tightly in big, loose curls or perhaps pinned it up in a similar manner.   This style is also accented, as many updos are, with loose tendrils left out in the front.  Many of these are hanging free with come S-curl formation giving it a 'messy' look that is unique indeed.
